This print comes from a series that features the Javanese version of Mahabharata, the Hindu epic, an important work on Javanese shadow theatre wayang purwa of Central Java, originally published around the year 1900 in Batavia (Jakarta) and based on drawings by Javanese master drawer R. Soelardi from Solo.⁣
