The famous King of Fruits, Durio Zibethinus is native to the Malay Archipelago. Known for its powerful odour, particularly strong-smelling variants are banned from public transport and hotels in Southeast Asia. Despite this, Alfred Russel Wallace was a fan and described its taste as “a rich custard highly flavoured with almonds.” This image was originally published in Belgium in the year 1863 Berthe van Nooten.
